Welcome to My Author Website!
Hello, dear readers and fellow book lovers! I’m thrilled to welcome you to my new author website, a space where we can connect, share ideas, and explore the worlds of storytelling together. I’m J.D. Blondin, an author, teacher, and former artist, and I’m excited to take you along on this journey with me.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’ve always been fascinated by stories that delve deep into history, philosophy, and the mysteries of the human spirit. My debut novel, “Plato’s Quest: Atlantis and the Emerald Tablet,” is a culmination of these passions, bringing together ancient legends, philosophical questions, and an epic adventure that I hope will captivate your imagination as much as it did mine while writing it.
The Inspiration Behind “Plato’s Quest”
The idea for “Plato’s Quest: Atlantis and the Emerald Tablet” came to me as a blend of my lifelong interest in ancient history, mythology, and the philosophical inquiries that have shaped human thought for millennia. I found myself captivated by the idea of Plato—the renowned philosopher—embarking on his own hero’s journey, not just through the physical landscapes of ancient civilizations but also through the mystical and spiritual realms.
What if Plato, the great thinker who gave us the allegory of the cave, was drawn into a real adventure that tested his beliefs and understanding of the world? What if he encountered not only the mysteries of Atlantis but also the deeper truths hidden in the Emerald Tablet? These questions stirred my imagination and set the foundation for the story that became “Plato’s Quest.”
The Writing Process: A Journey in Itself
Writing this novel was an adventure in itself—full of challenges, moments of doubt, and exhilarating breakthroughs. Researching the historical context of Plato’s time and weaving it seamlessly with the speculative elements of Atlantis required a balance of creativity and precision. There were days when I felt like an archaeologist, digging through ancient texts and records to find that perfect detail or piece of dialogue that would bring authenticity to the story.
As many writers know, this process isn’t always easy. There were times when the words flowed effortlessly, and others when I felt like I was wandering in a desert of ideas. But through it all, I was supported by incredible friends, family, and beta readers whose feedback and encouragement kept me going. A special thanks to my dear friend who helped edit and proofread the manuscript; your insights were invaluable.
